Is sport after work good?! Should you work out after a long day at work at the office? Even though we feel tired from sitting all day, which could sound quite sarcastic… Working out after finishing our work day could give back that missing part of our energy! But how does this work? Why should I work out after a long day? Can I just sleep? Let’s just see the benefits of working out after we finish our job!

  • One of the major reasons why you should do sport after work overall is to rest better! Sleep is much better when your body moves and takes out that physical energy! When your body gets exhausted both physically and your brain has worked all day on other tasks, that is what makes the magic!
  • Another reason is stress release. By working out, the stress from work that is built and held in yourself could be easily removed! Doing sports distorts you from thinking about problems at work, challenging yourself in other places, and physically letting out all the things that are held in.
  • Networking! As a matter of fact, I knew few people who found amazing friends, lovers, or even future partners at work during a workout or participation in some sport after work. Doing sport could help you with your personal life too, by meeting other interesting individuals. Also playing some sport will make you more interesting to others around you. That could lead to benefits inside your own circle too!
  • Being healthier. As it’s logical, doing sports after work, instead of watching reels or scrolling is very beneficial for your health!
  • Better looks. By choosing a specific sport, you can build up a specific physique. Set a goal, and be consistent to see how your overall body changes for the better!

1. If you work at a desk all day and you don’t talk to many people (being a programmer, copyrighted, designer… etc.) A good fit for a sport could be something that helps you socialize and talk with people:

  • Dance class, Latin dance
  • Basketball, football, and other team-based sports
  • Join a group for Yoga, Pilates, or similar activities
  • Do martial arts

Those sports are quite good because you are around people and you can talk, make friends and socialize, after a day talking with a computer.

2. If you feel like you don’t need to socialize or your work is something like (sales, call center, or other work that makes you talk all day). Then you would wanna just relieve the stress you have and talk with a close friend, just be alone.

  • Tennis – a sport that doesn’t force you to interact with many people, doesn’t matter whether table or court
  • Swimming – great way to clear your head & get all your muscles to work
  • Gym – include working outdoors on bars
  • Climbing – not so popular, but yet amazing and useful sport

Choosing a sport is as important for the body as it is for the mind and well-being. The best way to find your sport is to try a lot and then pick 1 or 2.

  • If you want to stay in shape, it doesn’t really matter what kind of sport you do, as long as you are already in shape
  • Losing weight would be ideal for sports that include running or consistent moving – tennis, football, gym, or swimming
  • Flexibility – doing yoga, pilates
  • Power/Muscle – gym, martial arts, power yoga

If you cannot swim I encourage you to go swimming for a couple of months, until you learn. Want to have more confidence around people? Doing martial arts will give you a sense of security. Do you want to be more eye-catching at parties? Going to some dance classes could make you the star of the night!
